He went to college at Berkeley for a year, ran a record store and had his own classical-music show on a local radio station. He published his first short story, Beyond Lies the Wub in 1952. He wrote more than 50 novels and among his finest are The Man in the High Castle (later adapted for television), Time Out of Joint, Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep? (on which the film Blade Runner is based) and Flow My Tears, The Policeman Said. He also continued publishing short stories throughout his life including We Can Remember It For You Wholesale, which later inspired Total Recall.Do you need help?
